Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, including assistance with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting)
Assist with mobility and transfers, supporting resident safety and dignity
Monitor and record vital signs and report changes promptly to the nursing team
Document care accurately and timely in resident records
Communicate observations and resident needs clearly to nurses and interdisciplinary staff
Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required for New Mexico practice
Active state nursing assistant registry status (as applicable)
Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or required per facility policy
Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Practical knowledge of resident care and activities of daily living
Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling practices
Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and the care team
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow care plans and directions
