Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition accurately
• Assist nursing staff with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the resident record
• Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to promote quality of life

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification and active registration in New Mexico
• CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to per-diem scheduling
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Comfort with basic charting and following care plans

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Vital signs measurement and reporting
• Safe patient transfer techniques and body mechanics
• Infection control practices and PPE use
• Team collaboration and clear documentation skills
• Compassionate interpersonal skills for diverse resident populations
