Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care for residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning following care plans
• Support mealtime and feeding assistance while respecting resident preferences
• Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection control practices
• Document care events clearly and communicate effectively with the care team
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Comfortable assisting with mobility, transfers, and basic ADLs

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational knowledge of patient safety and infection control
• Skill in taking and documenting vital signs and basic observations
• Understanding of ADLs, mobility assistance, and safe transfer techniques
• Competence in clear, concise documentation and handoff communication
• Ability to work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members
• Time management and prioritization skills during busy shifts
