Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic nursing care and assist patients with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility to promote dignity and comfort
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Support safe patient transfers and fall-prevention measures
• Document care and observations clearly in the chart or EMR
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to deliver person-centered care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Communicate respectfully with patients and families to support understanding and comfort

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state-certified CNA) required
• Active CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings is a plus
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (standing, lifting, assisting patients)
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and safe handling procedures
• Basic charting and documentation skills; EMR familiarity is helpful
• Good communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
• Observation skills to notice and report changes in patient condition
