Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Support residents with mobility, bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Assist with safe transfers and use of mobility equipment
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly with the care team
• Help create a comfortable, respectful environment that supports resident dignity

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential; must be valid in New Mexico
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or will be required upon hire
• Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or similar setting preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and successful certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing care
• Familiarity with infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Comfortable with charting, documentation, and following care plans
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well on a multidisciplinary team
• Basic understanding of safe patient handling and transfer techniques
