Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care to residents in a rehab setting
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and document patient status and report changes to nursing staff
• Support therapy and care plans by following direction from RNs and therapists
• Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
• Build positive relationships with residents and families to enhance recovery

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in New Mexico or ability to obtain state certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred
• Demonstrated experience or training in long-term care or rehabilitation is a plus
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility hiring requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in safe patient handling and transfers
• Familiarity with documenting care in electronic or paper charting systems
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nurses
• Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
• Team-player attitude with a focus on resident dignity and comfort
