Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with compassion and clinical accuracy during overnight shifts
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document all interventions
• Assess and monitor patient status, escalating changes to the care team promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to support individualized care plans
• Perform thorough and timely documentation in the patient record
• Educate patients and families about care, medications, and discharge instructions
• Respond effectively to emergencies and follow facility protocols to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Current, active LPN or RN license in New Mexico (or compact/state-appropriate licensure)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS preferred where applicable
• Experience in long-term care / rehabilitation or acute nursing helpful but motivated new grads are welcome for some per-diem roles
• Ability to work overnight shifts, prioritize tasks, and communicate clearly with the team
• Up-to-date immunizations and background checks per facility policy

Education

• Licensed Practical Nurse: Practical nursing diploma or equivalent
• Registered Nurse: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and IV/line management skills (as applicable by license)
• Skilled in patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, and documentation
• Good clinical judgment with the ability to triage and escalate changes in condition
• Comfortable using electronic health records and charting systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork aptitude during fast-paced overnight shifts
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to older adults and rehab patients
