Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate patient care and hands-on nursing support during night shifts
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to policies
- Monitor and document patient status, reporting changes to the care team promptly
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions to ensure smooth patient flow
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control standards
- Support patient and family education with clear, respectful communication
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico (or compact license where applicable)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working overnight hours and adapting to per diem schedules
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
- Previous long-term care or rehabilitation experience is a plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
- Electronic health record (EHR) charting and accurate documentation
- Infection prevention, wound care basics, and safe patient handling
- Teamwork, time management, and patient-centered communication
