Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Support safe mobility and transfers while promoting resident independence
• Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
• Follow infection control standards and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
• Assist with meal service and ensure dietary needs/preferences are respected

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in New Mexico (or eligible for state reciprocity)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screening
• Comfortable working independently on per-diem assignments and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude

Education

• Completion of an approved CNA training program and high school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic patient care
• Familiarity with charting and basic documentation practices
• Knowledge of infection prevention and safety protocols
• Good observational skills to notice and report changes in condition
• Teamwork and effective communication with nurses and facility staff
• Time management to complete assigned tasks during shift windows
