Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to women in the emergency room setting, including labor and delivery patients
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery, intervening as needed
• Manage acute gynecological emergencies and provide compassionate support to patients and families
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records using EPIC system
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Rhode Island
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) experience
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Women's Emergency Room environment
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification, and NRP
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health record system
• Ability to lift, transfer, and transport patients safely
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge in obstetrics, labor and delivery, and emergency nursing
• Proficient in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and medication administration
• Ability to quickly assess and respond to changing patient conditions
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiarity with ANA standards of nursing practice
