Location: Chicago, Illinois

Start Date: 02-23-2026

End Date: 05-24-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, rotating weekends and holidays, on-call (one night every 2 weeks, one weekend every 6 weeks)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $28 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist in a variety of surgical procedures including open heart, orthopedic, and general surgeries
Prepare and maintain the sterile field and ensure all instruments are ready
Collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes
Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
Participate in on-call rotation to support emergency surgeries

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in a busy department
EPIC EMR experience is a must
Ability to take call and work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

Expert knowledge of sterile techniques and OR protocols
Strong communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments
Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records
Ability to handle high-pressure situations with precision and calm
