Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations and administer treatment for speech, language, and swallowing disorders
• Design and revise individualized plans of care and goals
• Provide written and verbal reports to physicians
• Complete documentation according to unit standards and regulatory requirements
• Conduct bedside swallow studies and diet recommendations for inpatients
• Perform outpatient VFSS and provide speech therapy evaluation and intervention for adult and pediatric populations
• Participate in in-service education and stay current with trends in speech and swallowing disorders

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of pediatric SLP experience required
• Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
• Active Michigan SLP license
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification
• Experience with VFSS and working in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment
• New graduates are not considered

• Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology

• Pediatric and adult speech-language pathology
• Dysphagia management and VFSS interpretation
• Inpatient and outpatient care
• Independent clinical decision-making
• EMR proficiency, specifically McKesson
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
