Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend and every other holiday, with floating required to West Campus

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to neurosurgery and neurology patients
Monitor and assess neurological status, manage acute changes, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments with precision and care
Educate patients and families on recovery plans and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards
Float to West Campus when needed to support team coverage

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa (or compact state) - we can help with licensing!
BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
TNCC and NIHSS certifications
Minimum 1 year of recent MS Neuro experience preferred
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Willingness to float and adapt to changing unit needs

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in neurological assessments and interventions
Ability to manage complex patient populations with multiple comorbidities
Proficiency in electronic health records and documentation
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, acute care environment
