Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers, mobility, and ambulation following care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Assist with meal service and feeding as needed, respecting dietary needs
• Follow infection control protocols and contribute to a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to support resident wellbeing

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in New Mexico or ability to obtain state certification
• Active listing on the New Mexico nurse aide registry (or pending, if applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care, rehab, or similar clinical setting preferred
• Excellent communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed state-approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs, transfers, and mobility support
• Skilled in taking and documenting vital signs and resident observations
• Working knowledge of infection prevention and safety procedures
• Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Team player who communicates clearly with nurses, therapists, and families
• Respect for resident dignity, privacy, and individualized care plans
