Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to promote patient comfort and dignity
• Monitor and record patient vitals, reporting changes promptly to the nursing team
• Assist nurses with safe patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Support timely meal and medication assistance under nurse direction
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly during shift handoffs to ensure continuity

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
• CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain promptly
• Ability to pass facility background and health screenings
• Comfort working overnight shifts and supporting patients with varied needs
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude; previous long-term care or rehab experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic nursing terminology and patient care procedures
• Skilled in safe lifting, transfer techniques, and mobility assistance
• Competence with vital sign collection and basic charting
• Patient-centered approach with strong observational skills
• Ability to follow care plans and directions from nursing staff
• Time management and ability to prioritize patient needs during busy shifts
