Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Document care and observations clearly in the patient record
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Pennsylvania (required)
• Active state registry status and documentation of credentials
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with patient transfers and ADLs; able to perform physical aspects of the role
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, positive attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADLs, basic clinical observations, and resident safety
• Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for older adults
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to the team
