Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the Operating Room for cardiovascular and general surgical cases, ensuring patient safety and sterile technique
• Support complex procedures including heavy robotics, Gyn, General Surgery, ENT, Colorectal, Vascular and Urology
• Coordinate preop holding and patient handoffs using Meditech ORM to maintain continuity of care
• Advocate for a 1:1 patient ratio in CVOR cases and manage perioperative patient needs
• Participate in daily huddles and communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and the OR team
• Respond to on-call activations within the required 30 minute response time and manage emergent cases calmly
• Assist with room turnover, equipment setup and troubleshooting of specialized OR devices and robotics
• Contribute to a flexible, fast-paced environment and support unit staffing needs as required

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas or eligible for compact licensure
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years OR circulating experience at an acute care hospital (required)
• Demonstrated CVOR experience (required)
• Proven experience across a varied case mix: General Surgery, ENT, Urology/Gyn, Orthopedics, and Robotics
• CNOR certification preferred and candidates with 5+ years of experience will be considered first
• Ability to work scheduled day shifts plus rotating on-call weekdays and weekends with a 30 minute response time

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Meditech ORM and electronic charting workflows
• Strong sterile technique and perioperative infection control practices
• Experience with robotic systems and specialized CVOR equipment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced OR settings
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and respond quickly during emergent situations
• Familiarity with OR scheduling patterns and efficient room turnover practices
