Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
• Circulate in the operating room for C-section deliveries and assist the surgical team to ensure patient safety
• Continuously monitor fetal status using GE fetal monitoring and respond promptly to changes
• Manage inductions, mechanical dilators, and assist with procedures such as cerclage, D&C, and BTL
• Administer medications and outpatient therapies including Rhogam, iron infusions, and antenatal steroids according to protocols
• Collaborate with anesthesia, obstetrics, pediatric teams, and unit staff to coordinate seamless care
• Document care accurately in CPN and Meditech EMR and communicate patient status during handoffs
• Follow unit protocols for oxytocin, hemorrhage management, preeclampsia/magnesium sulfate, and diabetic OB glucose management

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (per state requirements) with ability to practice in Texas
• Minimum 1 year experience in Labor & Delivery (per job information)
• Demonstrated experience circulating in the OR for C-section deliveries (must-have)
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (required)
• Familiarity with fetal monitoring and high-acuity maternal care
• Comfort using CPN and Meditech EMR systems
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, weekends, and scheduled call

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal monitoring interpretation and 응responsive assessment skills
• Proven ability to manage laboring patients and handle obstetric emergencies
• Skilled in perioperative circulating tasks for cesarean deliveries
• Experience with inductions, mechanical dilators, cerclage, and postpartum care
• Competence with outpatient procedures such as Rhogam administration and iron infusions
• Team-oriented communication, clinical documentation, and handoff best practices
• Familiarity with unit protocols: oxytocin, hemorrhage management, magnesium sulfate, MEWS, and diabetic OB care
