Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Perform rapid triage and focused assessments to prioritize care in a busy ED
• Administer medications, start and manage IV therapy, and monitor patient response
• Respond promptly to trauma, code, and high-acuity situations with calm and confidence
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Maintain unit safety, infection control standards, and readiness for emergencies

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or eligibility for Texas licensure (compact license may be accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to prioritize, and excellent communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• IV insertion and medication administration
• Trauma response and basic critical care interventions
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation
• Quick decision-making and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Teamwork, clear communication, and patient-centered care
