Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered OB/GYN nursing care across labor, delivery, and postpartum settings
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using appropriate assessment tools and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments accurately and according to facility protocols
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to plan and execute care
• Educate patients and families on labor processes, postpartum care, and newborn basics in a clear, reassuring way
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in a timely manner
• Support safe births by assisting in deliveries and responding effectively in emergencies

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license (Texas or compact RN license preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in OB/GYN, labor & delivery, or related maternal-child nursing
• Current BLS required; NRP, ACLS, or other obstetric certifications preferred when available
• Demonstrated ability to assess and manage maternal and fetal conditions, triage, and prioritize care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse care team
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. for the duration of the travel assignment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of labor and delivery procedures, postpartum care, and newborn transitions
• Fetal monitoring and interpretation (electronic fetal monitoring/strip review)
• IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency response in obstetric settings
• Patient education and family-centered care approaches
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-acuity or rapidly changing situations
