Registered Nurse - Med/Surg
Location: New Orleans, LA
Start Date: 04-24-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (day and night rotations). Exact start/end times and weekly schedule to be provided by facility; shift type: rotating 12-hour
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based med/surg nursing care to adults across the unit
- Assess patients’ conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and transitions
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient record
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact RN eligible)
- Current BLS certification; ACLS and other certifications a plus
- Clinical experience or familiarity with medical/surgical patient care
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to rotating schedules
- Professionalism, teamwork, and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid med/surg clinical knowledge including post-op and complex medical conditions
- IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation best practices
- Excellent prioritization and time-management in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative teamwork and effective communication with patients and staff
