Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to residents, helping maintain dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Monitor and accurately document vital signs and patient status
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics
• Communicate meaningful changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver personalized, person-centered care
• Respect resident privacy, preferences, and cultural needs at all times

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (must meet New Mexico requirements)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to work overnight shifts and flexible per-diem schedule
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background checks
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
• Previous long-term care or clinical experience a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled at assisting with ADLs and personal care
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Familiar with infection control practices and PPE use
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes clearly
• Safe transfer and lifting techniques
• Team-oriented, dependable, and organized under pressure
• Basic electronic charting or paper charting experience
