Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and support daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, mobility, feeding and toileting while preserving dignity
• Take and record vital signs, report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in resident charts
• Promote a safe, clean environment by following infection control protocols
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team
• Support transfers and positioning using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Participate in care planning and follow individualized care instructions

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Active CNA license in New Mexico or eligible to obtain one
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
• Basic computer or electronic charting comfort is a plus
• Willingness to work overnight shifts and flexible per diem scheduling

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• CNA certification completed from an approved program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident assistance
• Knowledge of vital signs, basic patient assessment, and reporting
• Understanding of infection prevention and medication safety basics
• Ability to follow care plans and prioritize resident needs
• Teamwork mindset and respectful, professional communication
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
