Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and daily living assistance to geriatric residents
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility with dignity
• Monitor and document resident condition, reporting changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and use proper lifting and positioning techniques
• Help create a warm, home-like environment that promotes resident comfort
• Assist with meal service and feeding, and observe dietary needs or restrictions
• Participate in care planning and communicate effectively with families and staff

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required per facility)
• Previous experience in geriatrics or long-term care preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Infection control practices and safe handling of equipment
• Team-focused attitude and clear communication with multidisciplinary staff
