Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility assistance
• Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient status during overnight hours
• Assist nurses with ADLs and treatment plans, escalating changes in condition promptly
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the night shift and support restful sleep routines
• Maintain clean, safe patient environments and assist with bedside tasks and transfers
• Communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team during handoffs and charting

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in New Mexico (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior experience as a CNA in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute settings is a plus
• Ability to pass facility background and health screenings
• Reliable, compassionate, and comfortable working overnight shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic patient care practices and infection control
• Comfort with patient transfers, use of mobility aids, and safe body mechanics
• Good observational skills and accurate charting habits
• Strong communication skills for effective team handoffs
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy overnight environment
