Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support daily living activities
• Assist residents with mobility, transferring, bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team
• Support safe and comfortable mealtimes and assist with feeding as needed
• Document care accurately and promptly in resident records
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain infection control practices and a clean, safe environment

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification - required
• Active state nursing aide registration or ability to obtain one in New Mexico
• Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled at assisting with activities of daily living and resident comfort
• Knowledge of vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and charting
• Understanding of infection prevention and safe handling techniques
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to nursing staff
