Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while preserving dignity
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs, intake/output, and other observations
• Support safe transfers and mobility for residents using proper body mechanics
• Communicate changes in condition promptly to the nursing team and document thoroughly
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through consistent, respectful care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New Mexico certification preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with personal care and safe patient handling
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is helpful but not required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must hold a current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient-centered care and respect for resident dignity
• Basic infection control and safety procedures
• Vital signs monitoring and documentation
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks
• Clear communication with nursing staff and families
• Familiarity with electronic or paper charting systems
