Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide kind, respectful assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record patient vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient charts
• Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Assist with meal service and ensure patients receive appropriate nutrition and hydration
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to support care plans
• Help transfer and ambulate patients safely, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Respond calmly and professionally in urgent situations and escalate as needed

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of New Mexico (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Comfortable working overnight hours and flexible per-diem scheduling
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or a similar setting is a plus

Education

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and ADL assistance
• Vital signs measurement and basic charting
• Infection control best practices
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Clear communication and teamwork with nursing staff
• Time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
