Roles & Responsibilities

• Systematically gather and evaluate patient information from interviews and records to form accurate clinical impressions
• Conduct thorough clinical and patient assessments and identify variations from expected findings
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and coordinate follow-up care
• Provide individual and group therapies that meet Mental Health Unit standards and patient needs
• Prioritize and manage patient requests and acute needs, communicating with charge nurse and care team as needed
• Educate patients and families, involving them appropriately in treatment and discharge planning
• Coordinate care with PCPs, outpatient providers, and community services to ensure continuity
• Support comprehensive case management including insurance authorization and referral processes
• Document interventions and patient responses clearly and timely according to policy
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and contribute to team-based care
• Supervise and mentor students/interns when appropriate and help maintain documentation standards
• Seek professional growth opportunities and share best practices with the team

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Psychology, Human Services, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in the human services or behavioral health field
• AHA BLS required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a wide range of patients and caregivers
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with treatment planning and case management
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and supervise students/interns

Education

• BA or BS in Psychology, Human Services, or related field (required)
• Master's degree in counseling or a related field (preferred)
