Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and support to residents during overnight hours
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
• Monitor and document vital signs, resident status, and changes in condition
• Respond promptly to call lights and ensure resident safety and comfort
• Collaborate with nursing staff to follow care plans and communicate observations
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Support mealtime assistance and timely documentation of care provided

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Current state certification or ability to obtain Maine CNA credential
• Previous CNA or direct care experience preferred but not required
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first approach
• Basic familiarity with charting/documentation; EHR experience a plus
• BLS/CPR certification preferred (if not required, ability to obtain is acceptable)

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited/state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and patient mobility
• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
• Ability to accurately take and record vital signs
• Comfortable with resident positioning, transfers, and bedside care
• Good documentation habits and clear communication with the care team
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to work independently on night shift
