Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient condition accurately and timely
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Communicate observations and changes to nursing staff to ensure high-quality care
• Assist with meal service and feeding while respecting patient dignity and preferences
• Follow infection control, safety, and facility procedures to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (valid in New Mexico)
• Comfortable working overnight/night shift hours
• Basic patient care experience preferred; new CNAs with training welcome
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and clinical team
• Reliable transportation and flexibility for per-diem scheduling

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of patient care and activities of daily living support
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and coworkers
• Awareness of infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Ability to follow care plans and accurately report observations
• Comfortable using facility documentation systems and following protocols
