Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding with dignity and respect
• Monitor and report vital signs and any changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents and patients
• Support patient mobility and transfers using safe body mechanics and proper equipment
• Document care provided accurately and timely in the patient record
• Communicate compassionately with patients and families and collaborate with the care team to meet patient goals
• Follow infection control policies and facility procedures to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in New Mexico or ability to obtain state certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable performing hands-on patient care and personal care tasks
• Basic vital signs measurement and reporting
• Knowledge of infection prevention and safety protocols
• Ability to document care accurately and follow care plans
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family interactions
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks with safe lifting techniques
