Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care throughout your shift
• Perform thorough assessments and document findings clearly in the chart
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergent situations during night hours
• Educate patients and families to support recovery, discharge planning, and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current, active RN or LPN license (Registered Nurse preferred) — Maine licensure or eligibility required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable or preferred
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical, long-term care, or similar settings is valued
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass facility background checks
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on night shift

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma, or BSN)
• Continuing education encouraged to support professional growth

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and clinical judgment for overnight care
• Medication administration and IV therapy fundamentals
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm in urgent situations
• Teamwork, patient advocacy, and clear communication with staff and families
