Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and empathy
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable patient environments through thoughtful care
• Document patient care and observations clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members to promote excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of New Mexico
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass facility background check, drug screen, and required immunizations
• Comfortable with night/overnight shifts and flexible per diem scheduling
• Professional, compassionate bedside manner and dependable attendance

Education

• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and patient safety practices
• Skill in taking and recording vital signs and observing patient condition
• Familiarity with infection control procedures and hand hygiene
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes in condition promptly
• Basic charting/documentation skills and attention to detail
