Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Hours per Week: 40

Roles & Responsibilities

Help patients stretch and exercise specific muscle groups
Read and implement instructions from Physical Therapist
Collaborate directly with Physical Therapist to modify patient care
Communicate with families to recommend at-home techniques
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the physical therapy area
Assist patients with transfers from wheelchairs or walkers to therapy area
Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork
Teach patients techniques including balance training

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist Assistant experience
Experience in Long Term Care or Rehabilitation settings
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
Missouri state license or ability to obtain
Willingness to work at the posted rate

Knowledge & Skills

Patient care and therapeutic exercise techniques
Stretching and exercise therapy
Assisting with physical therapy treatments
Patient education and family communication
Administrative and organizational skills
