Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient conditions accurately
• Assist nursing staff with transfers, mobility, and safe handling of patients
• Support hygiene, feeding, and comfort needs while preserving patient dignity
• Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the nursing team
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through friendly, professional interactions

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing (required)
• State CNA certification or licensure as required by New Mexico regulations
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
• Ability to work per diem night shifts and remain flexible with scheduling
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations/TB screening as required by facility

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills and experience with ADLs (activities of daily living)
• Proficient in taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of infection control and proper PPE use
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well on a care team
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and attention to patient safety
