Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living with respect and dignity
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort and independence
• Support mealtime assistance and help with feeding when needed
• Document care activities accurately and communicate clearly with coworkers during handoffs
• Create a warm, welcoming environment and build trusting relationships with residents and families

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
• Valid CNA authorization or eligibility to work in New Mexico
• CPR/BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
• Ability to pass background checks and any facility screening requirements
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and infection control practices
• Comfort with safe resident handling and proper body mechanics
• Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
