Location: Orono, ME

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM (day shift)

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning
Take and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
Support the nursing staff with direct patient care tasks and timely communication
Document care accurately and maintain patient confidentiality
Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Active registration with the Maine CNA registry (or able to register)
Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Reliable, patient-centered approach and strong communication skills
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on patient care and basic nursing skills
Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
Strong observational skills and timely communication with nurses
Infection control, hand hygiene, and safety best practices
Teamwork, empathy, and professional bedside manner
