Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and respect
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to residents and families
• Document care accurately and timely according to facility policies
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety procedures
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure individualized resident-centered care plans are implemented

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• Active authorization to practice as a CNA in New Mexico (state registration/license as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort and experience working overnight shifts and with diverse patient populations
• Strong communication skills, dependability, and a team-oriented approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Successful completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisted living and long-term care resident support
• Knowledge of infection control, patient hygiene, and safe transfer techniques
• Proficient in basic vital signs collection and documentation
• Ability to follow care plans, report observations, and escalate concerns
• Compassionate bedside manner and good time-management skills
