Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor residents’ status and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Take and record vital signs and other routine observations accurately
• Document care activities and communication clearly and professionally
• Assist with mealtime and dietary needs, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Collaborate with the care team to promote resident well-being and quality of life

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (required)
• Active CNA authorization in New Mexico or eligible to obtain state certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable with night shifts and per diem scheduling
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in activities of daily living (ADLs) support
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Ability to chart accurately and follow care plans
• Teamwork, time management, and compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to follow directions and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
