Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility in a safe, respectful manner
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and routine observations accurately
• Communicate changes in resident condition promptly to nursing staff and caregivers
• Support a clean and safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Engage residents with dignity, encouraging independence and social interaction
• Document care activities thoroughly and maintain clear, professional communication with the care team

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — New Mexico certification preferred or eligible
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Proficient in taking and recording vital signs and observing changes
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety principles
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from nursing staff
