Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and instrumentation for CVOR procedures, ensuring everything is sterile and ready
• Assist surgeons and the CVOR team during cardiovascular and hybrid cath lab operations
• Maintain strict sterile technique and surgical counts to support patient safety
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs by handing instruments and supplies efficiently
• Document case details, instrument usage, and assist with turnover to keep the schedule moving
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage and respond promptly when needed to support urgent cases
• Collaborate closely with nurses, perfusionists, and physicians to ensure smooth, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Colorado Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license through DORA — REQUIRED
• Certification in Surgical Technology from NBSTSA, AST, or NCCT
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Demonstrated CVOR-specific scrub technologist experience
• Graduate of an accredited scrub technologist program
• Willingness to work a 4x10 day schedule and participate in rotating call
• Traveler availability welcomed (experience as a traveler is a plus)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited scrub technologist program
• Certification in Surgical Technology (NBSTSA/AST/NCCT) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with sterile technique, instrument identification, and surgical counts
• Experience in cardiovascular operating room procedures and hybrid cath lab workflows
• Familiarity with CVOR instrumentation and implantable device handling
• Strong teamwork, communication, and situational awareness in high-acuity settings
• Accurate documentation and the ability to support fast room turnover
