Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Assist with mobility and transfers safely using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team
• Support meal and feeding needs while monitoring dietary restrictions and preferences
• Maintain accurate documentation of resident care and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe care environment
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) in good standing
• Enrollment or registration on the state CNA registry as required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Previous long-term care or assisted living experience is a plus but not required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care standards
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe lifting/transfer techniques
• Comfortable with documentation and electronic or paper charting systems
• Good observation skills for noticing changes in resident condition
• Teamwork and collaboration with licensed nurses and support staff
• Time management skills to prioritize resident needs during busy shifts
