Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff clearly and promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and proper use of patient-handling equipment
• Support mealtime routines, including feeding assistance and documentation of intake
• Maintain clean, comfortable resident environments and adhere to infection control practices
• Document care activities accurately and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident goals

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Comfortable working overnight hours and in a fast-paced care setting
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively with residents and the care team

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on resident care skills and safe transfer techniques
• Familiarity with basic charting and documentation practices
• Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide emotional support
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nurses
