Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert, compassionate critical care to patients in the Burn/Trauma/Surgical ICU during 12-hour night shifts
• Monitor and manage advanced critical care equipment and therapies with vigilance and precision
• Perform unit procedures including wound care, EVD management, participation in MTPs and responding to codes
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Meditech EMR and communicate clear patient updates to the care team
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and participate in unit-based problem solving
• Support unit staffing needs, float when required, and contribute to a team-based culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required) and eligible to work in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (Trauma, Burn, or Surgical ICU experience is a must)
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills — you’ll be making fast, high-impact decisions
• Comfortable with critical care equipment and high-acuity patient ratios (ICU typically 2:1)
• Willingness to float to MSICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or PCU as needed
• CCRN and BSN are preferred but not required

Education

• RN required
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in trauma, burn, and surgical critical care
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for charting and orders
• Proficiency in wound care, EVD management and Massive Transfusion Protocols (MTP)
• Strong patient assessment, ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring skills
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and critical thinking
