Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert inpatient neurology care for adult patients, managing an average of 10-15 hospital-based patients per day
• Respond rapidly and effectively as part of the stroke response team
• Perform unofficial radiologic exam interpretation to support timely clinical decisions
• Collaborate closely with onsite physicians and APPs to coordinate patient care and dispositions
• Document clinical encounters and care plans in Epic Carepath accurately and efficiently
• Participate in trauma-related care as needed (approximately 10% trauma exposure)
• Communicate clearly with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality inpatient care

Qualifications

• Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) or eligible for state licensure; credentialing timeframe is approximately 60 days and is pending license and background
• Experience in inpatient neurology or acute care settings preferred
• Comfort participating in stroke response team activations
• Ability to perform or support radiologic exam interpretation (unofficial) in the inpatient setting
• Familiarity with Epic Carepath or willingness to learn
• Comfort caring for 100% adult patient population

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical neurology assessment and inpatient management
• Stroke recognition and acute stroke protocol workflows
• Basic radiologic exam interpretation skills to support clinical decisions
• Experience with hospital-based EMR workflows, specifically Epic Carepath
• Ability to manage multiple inpatients and prioritize care (10-15 patients/day)
• Collaborative communication with physicians, APPs, nursing, and ancillary services
