Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, promptly recognizing and responding to rhythm changes
• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to telemetry patients including medication administration and IV management
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document changes in condition accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and self-care prior to discharge
• Participate in orientation and unit training to maintain high standards of care and teamwork

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or compact RN eligibility
• Experience caring for telemetry patients preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Patient assessment and documentation best practices
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems
• Infection control standards and patient safety practices
• Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
