Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer safe, high-quality nursing care on a MedSurg/Oncology unit, including chemo administration when credentialed
• Titrate and manage IV drips (e.g., Lasix, Heparin) per protocol to maintain patient stability
• Monitor and respond to telemetry and acute changes in adult and geriatric patients
• Provide stroke care support and collaborate with the stroke team for timely interventions
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Work as a collaborative team member with charge nurses, RTs, monitor techs, and other support staff to maintain a safe unit

Qualifications

• Valid RN license (eligible to submit per facility requirements)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum/Preferred: 2 years of recent nursing experience preferred, but first-time travel nurses are welcome
• Experience with chemo administration, med-surg, telemetry monitoring preferred
• Comfortable titrating drips per unit protocols; Lasix and Heparin familiarity preferred
• Telemetry experience and EPIC charting experience preferred
• Trach and BiPAP experience is a plus (preferred, not required)

Education

• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surg and oncology nursing knowledge
• IV drip titration and management
• Telemetry monitoring and responding to cardiac changes
• Chemotherapy administration fundamentals and safe handling
• Stroke patient assessment and NIHSS familiarity
• Collaborative teamwork, patient education, and clear clinical documentation
