Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate labor, delivery and postpartum care for low-risk patients >36 weeks
• Continuously monitor and interpret fetal and maternal status using OBIX electronic fetal monitoring and Phillips monitors
• Safely titrate drips such as oxytocin and occasional magnesium sulfate following unit protocols
• Perform neonatal stabilization and resuscitation (NRP/STABLE) when needed and coordinate transfers for higher acuity
• Document timely and accurately in EPIC to support continuity of care and clear communication
• Collaborate with OB providers, anesthesia, neonatal teams and support staff for safe births and excellent outcomes
• Step into charge RN duties when assigned, managing assignments and ensuring unit flow
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing education to keep skills sharp

Qualifications

• Valid RN license (must be able to submit license; state authorization as required)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE
• Comfort and experience titrating drips (oxytocin, magnesium sulfate)
• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring (OBIX) and reading cardiac/OB strips
• Proficiency with EPIC charting and using Phillips monitor systems
• Ability to work nights, self-schedule, and cover 2-3 weekends per 6 weeks

Education

• Current RN licensure required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (OBIX) interpretation
• Drip titration protocols and safe medication administration
• EPIC clinical documentation
