Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate direct patient care for critically ill adults in the ICU
• Continuously assess and monitor patient status, interpreting cardiac rhythms and hemodynamics
• Administer medications and titrate infusions safely while following established protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and lead bedside stabilization efforts
• Accurately document care, assessments, and interventions in the patient record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and care plans with empathy and clarity

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or eligibility under RN compact provisions
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or required by facility
• Prior ICU or critical care experience preferred; strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Current healthcare provider immunizations and any facility-required screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of critical care principles and best practices
• Skill in cardiac monitoring, ventilator basics, and advanced hemodynamic assessment
• Competence with IV therapy, medication administration, and infusion pumps
• Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
